    Supporting the Redevelopment of Underused and Idle Properties

    The EPA’s brownfields initiative addresses properties whose development plans may be complicated by the presence of a hazardous substance, pollutant or contaminant that are often in economically distressed areas. Both federal and state governments may offer tax credits, grants or other incentives in return for developing a brownfield site. Voluntary remediation/cleanup programs can support the EPA Brownfields Program and offer certificates of completion that provide additional liability protections. ECS guides clients through the brownfields process from initial grant request writing through site assessment and remediation.
